KATHERINE MARIE HOGLUND BUTA

January 12, 1952 - August 3, 2009

Kathy was killed in a single-car accident on August 3, 2009. She is survived by two sons, Eric and Bradley. She was a 1970 graduate from Jericho Hill School for the Deaf in Vancouver, and a 1975 graduate from Gallaudet University. While at Gallaudet, she joined Delta Epsilon Sorority.

Kathy worked for many years as a Librarian/Media Technician at Prince George's Community College, before becoming Director of Religious Education at Center For Deaf Ministries. She loved to collect lighthouses, and was a country music fan. She also loved reading books and doing crafts.

A funeral service was held on August 8 at St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Prince Frederick, MD.
