Jacqueline Colletti Lawless, 55, of Rittman, died Tuesday, Oct. 18, at the Hospice of Visiting Nurse Service Care Center in Akron. Memorial contributions may be made to the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition, 500 N.E. Spanish River Blvd. Suite 8, Boca Raton, Fla. 33431, or the Visiting Nurse Service of Akron. She was born Aug. 22, 1950, in Akron to Nicasio and Salvatrice (Marguglia) Colletti. She married James Lawless on July 24, 1971. He survives. She was a professor at Akron University in the ASL Interpreting Program from 1986 to 2003. She received the Community Services for the Deaf Award, and was named Quota Club Woman of the Year. She was Chairperson of History through Deaf Eyes in 2003. She was a member of Wooster Church of the Nazarene and vice president of OAD District 4. In addition to her husband, she is survived by children, Jonathan Lawless of Washington, D.C., Juliette Lawless of Rittman, and Jeanette (John) Holmer of Batavia, Ohio; brother, Jim Colletti of McMurray, Pa.; brothers-in-law, Patrick Lawless of Springfield, Va., and Bernard Lawless of Canyon Lake, Texas.
