Daniel J. Rinas

Daniel J. Rinas was born in New Britain, CT in 1951. He attended the American School for the Deaf (CT) and graduated in 1970. He went on to Gallaudet College and graduated with a B.A. Degree in Social Philosophy. He met his wife Hazel Jones while at college. He leaves behind two daughters, Michelle Corno (Danny) and Rachel Rinas; and three grandchildren, Kyle Rinas, Bailey Corno, and Brayden Corno.

Danny worked at the Maryland School for the Deaf, Columbus Campus, as a dorm counselor and then as after school program coordinator, from 195 until he retired in 2009. He also received an employee of the year award during his time there. For many years he served as the middle school boys' basketball coach. He also umpired men's softball from 1986 to 2015 for both Deaf and hearing players. Danny established and coordinated a weekly Deaf 3 on 3 basketball league for over 25 years.

His hobbies included watching and playing sports, and spending time with his friends and family. He was a diehard Yankees fan and Maryland Terps fan.
